Voluminous Romantic Waves

I love when my hair is curly. It’s just a pain and takes awhile but I love when it’s done, lol. Today I wanted to share an easy way to get this look. I’ve had the Hot Tools Professional Marcel Iron 1/2″ since I was in cosmetology school and I love how fast it heats up and how well it curls my hair. It’s comparable in quality to more expensive wands and is used by professional stylists but doesn’t break the bank. The handle rolls in your hand so its easier to roll your hair around the barrel if you use it as a regular curling iron. I use it as a wand because its a little quicker for me that way when I’m trying to achieve this look. I found it at ULTA for $39.99!

I don’t use a lot of product in my hair because it just weighs it down. So the 2 products I do use are Big Sexy Hair Spray & Play Volumizing Hairspray, it’s one of my favorites. I also use the Africa’s Best Organics Olive Oil Shine Hair Polish, 6 oz before I blow dry and flat iron my hair and before I curl it. It has amazing heat protection and keeps the perfect shine.

The trick to achieving this look is to section off your hair, it makes it so much easier and quicker that way. I use the Goody Scrunchies, 8 count and the KITSCH Plastic Butterfly Clamps to section off and hold my hair in place. I use my Hot Tools Professional Marcel Iron like a wand because it’s easy and it’s such a small barrel that it works. Taking smaller sections of hair at a time will help keep the curls from wrapping around themselves and your hair from getting tangled. Curling small sections at a time and curling your hair in different directions throughout helps give it a more voluminous look once brushed out.

I finished off the look using a little more Big Sexy Hair Spray & Play Volumizing Hairspray and just brush them out gently with a big paddle brush. Keep in mind the more you brush the frizzier your curls can get so hairspray helps tame that. Finish the completed look with a spritz of hairspray to lock in the style and you’re ready to go.
